Details: The climbing facility at Sand Hill Scout Reservation is considered to be the largest and the best in the State of Florida. The facility was completed and opened in 1999. The area also includes a storage and training shelter. Sand Hill is home to a new state of the art COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) course. The course is 50 feet in the air and includes a 400 foot zip line that will have you crying for mother earth! The rappelling tower has three levels to choose from; 10, 25, 35 foot levels. How high can you go?
Location: West of the main paved road. Turn off Eagle Blend on to Tower Trail. The facility is at the end of the road. Listings "P", "Q", and "Z" on map.
Fees: Rappelling Tower / Climbing Wall: WCFC FOS Unit - $3 per day per person. BSA Scouting Groups - $5 per day per person. Non-Scouting Groups - Not available. Note - Units must arrange for their own WCFC Certified Climbing Director or Climbing Instructor. Damaged or lost equipment replaced in kind. COPE Course: WCFC FOS Unit - $3 per day per person. BSA Scouting Groups - $5 per day per person. Non-Scouting Groups - Not Available. Note - Units must arrange for their own WCFC Certified COPE Director and Instructors.
